Cascadia Architects is a Victoria-based full-service architectural firm with a current portfolio of projects that includes commercial, healthcare, urban-planning, mixed-use commercial / residential, and Passive House residential.
The firm is a collaborative team of architects, intern-architects and architectural technologists working in an open studio environment. We are interested in pursuing innovative projects that bring environmental, social, and cultural enrichment to users and the broader communities.
Cascadia maintain a contract employment position geared towards typical student work-term criteria and is limited to a four-month temporary employment contract during which the student participates in the life and production of the office, simultaneously learning and contributing to the productivity of the office.
Co-Op Student Skill Requirements
We are seeking a skilled student with a solid foundation of education. Specific skills must include preparation and presentation of design drawings & materials, models, and technical drawings. The student will assist with design and space planning at the schematic and design development phases. The student will assist in establishing office drawings standards and file/library management practices as well as support project teams in the development of design documentation, contract administration and site reviews. The student will also be able to prepare materials for, and attend client, municipal, consultant and site meetings as required.
Candidates best suited will have:
- Proficiency in Revit
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite
- Experience working in the context of multidisciplinary project teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English
- Self-motivation and diligence
- Excellent ability with 3D modelling skills
- The ability to manage time well and work towards deadlines
- Ability to work independently, developing, and coordinating drawings
